Acupuncture for Back Pain

Source: BMT Acupuncture

When I talk about acupuncture with my patients, I’ve found it’s usually the thought of needles being inserted into various parts of the body that scare people off from trying it. So I want to explain the benefits that come from acupuncture- and then I’ll tell you the little secret I give my patients that are nervous about the needles…

When “chi” (energy) becomes stagnant or blocked, organ function is impaired. You see, each of your organs has its own channel of energy that connects and flows through your body. So, if there’s a blockage anywhere along the channel, it will have a negative effect on your health.

Acupuncture is designed to open the channel and prevent chi stagnation. It involves the use of very fine needles to stimulate specific points on the body-along an organ’s channel-enabling blocked chi to flow freely.

The treatments are virtually painless, but if you’re not a big fan of needles, I have a simple remedy for that- just close your eyes!

In many cases it’s mind over matter. So a good healer will help you feel relaxed and calm. One of the best ways to start feeling relaxed is to simply close your eyes and focus on your breath.
